2013 Pokémon TCG Australian Nationals Details!

Hey all!

Marcus here giving you the scoop on the upcoming event this weekend! The 2013 Pokémon TCG National Championships are being held in Melbourne this year!

Details are as follows!

Location: Stamford Plaza Melbourne, 111 Little Collins St, Melbourne VIC, 3000
Dates: Saturday 15th June, Sunday 16th June

Day 1 – Saturday 15th of June: Main Event!

Main Event- 2013 Pokemon TCG Nationals

Registration: 9am – 10am.
Start time: 10am sharp!
Cost: Free!
Format: Modified Constructed (60 card decks, Black and White onwards).

We will be playing 45 minute rounds, best 2 out of 3 games during the swiss rounds. Who will be crowned the National Champion!?

Day 2 – Sunday 16th of June: Finals and Side Events!

Nationals Finalists Playoffs

Finalist Player Meeting: 9:30am
Top Cut starts: 10:30am
Description: The top cut is for the players who are successful enough during the swiss rounds. The number of players who make the finals are dependent on the total number of players as per the tournament rules!

Metronome Constructed Event

Registration: 9:30am
Start Time: 10:30am
Cost: $15 Entry
Format: Modified Constructed (60 Cards, Black and White onwards)
Description: Those mischievous Clefairy are at it again! A random rule will be announced at the start of each round. Who knows what could happen!? Prizes for all!

Pokémon Video Game Side Event!

Registration: 1pm
Start Time: 2pm
Cost: $15 Entry
Format: Pokémon VGC 2013 - http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/play-pokemon-tournaments/rules/
Description: Come and put your Video Game skills to the test! You will need a Black 2 or White 2 Game cartridge! Prizes for all!

Pokémon Professor Cup Format TCG Event!

Registration: 1:30pm
Start Time: 2:30pm
Cost: $15 Entry
Description: A fun side event with some interesting rules (below). This event will be open to all! You don’t need to be a professor. Prizes for all!

  1. Only cards from the Black & White series on may be used. Black Star Promo Cards numbered BW01 and higher will be allowed.
  2. 30 card format: Constructed.

Additional rules: “Kiddie Pool!”

  1. Pokémon used must be able to evolve to a Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokémon. For example:
    • Tepig can evolve to Pignite and so would be allowed.
    • Pignite can evolve to Emboar and so would be allowed.
    • Emboar is unable to evolve and so would not be allowed in a deck.
    • Bouffalant is unable to evolve and would not be allowed in a deck.
  2. Hypnotoxic Laser (Black & White—Plasma Storm, 123/135) will not be permitted in Professor Cup decks
